P2 CLARIFICATION

It has come to my attention that my instructions regarding the P2 materials are unclear. The statement is made that the P2 (Vision Team Preparation Packet) is identical to the P3 (Pastor Preparation Packet) except for the deletion of material unique to pastors. Let me clarify. The printed materials are the same. However, P2 includes no CDs. Pastors are to use the CDs in their manuals to lead the Vision Team. Also, there is no need to cover the material in P3/P2 concerning the Ideal 2ND WIND Pastor or the Vision Team Selection. This material may be covered if desired, but it's not necessary to the process. Sorry for the confusion.

2ND WIND BINDERS ON THE WAY

My apologies! The 2ND WIND three-ring binders have experienced a production delay. As soon as we receive them at United Front, we will send binders to each participating church for pastors and Vision Team members. Again, sorry about the delay, but they should be coming soon. In the meantime, don't wait. Move forward with your preparation materials.

SELECTING AND PREPARING THE VISION TEAM- 12/5/07

2ND WIND pastors should be nearing completion of P3 - the Pastors Preparation Packet - at this point. One of the most important actions to be taken is the selection of the Vision Team. Vision Team responsibilities include:

Dicerning God's Vision for the Church
Developing Vision & Strategy
Directing the Church through the ReDevelopment Process
Determinining Evaluation & Accountability

Vision Team characteristics include:

Discerning
Visionary
Spiritually Mature
Respected

No one person might possess all of these characteristics, but each characteristic should be thoroughly reflected in the team as a whole. How the team is selected and who should participate in the selection process is up to pastors, church leaders, and both church and denominational polity. Each denomination, and perhaps each church, is slightly different, so there is no "one size fits all" approach to Vision Team selection.

Materials for preparing the Vision Team for the 2-Day Intensive will be mailed to each participating church at the beginning of next week. These materials - P2 The Vision Team Preparation Packet - are nearly identical to P3. Pastors are to lead their teams through P2 as a group, using the CDs that are part of P3. The Vision Team Preparation Packet does not include additional CDs. Ideally, Vision Teams will complete P2 in early 2008.
